First-ever 'L.A. Cup' soccer tournament held in Griffith Park

US

The Los Angeles Parks Foundation hosted its first-ever “LA Cup” soccer tournament on Sunday in Griffith Park.

Staff members from 10 City Council offices, the Mayor’s Office and the City Attorney’s Office competed on the field, whereas on the sidelines, organizers held a resource fair for community members to engage with city officials.

The LA Parks Foundation geared this event toward raising awareness of and encouraging donations for its ongoing mission to enhance and promote city parks, recreation and open space in the city.

“Getting people to come out here and check out the beautiful fields that we have and the beautiful park infrastructure that we have and the outdoor spaces that you can come and hang out at, I think is really important,” said participant Andoni Elias Nava.
