Armed robbers hit two different 7-Eleven stores separated by about eight miles early Sunday morning, according to authorities.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the first robbery happened at about 12:36 a.m. at the 7-Eleven at 4800 Temple City Boulevard in Temple City. There, two Hispanic men wearing dark clothing and face masks entered the store armed with a handgun.
The men fled the scene on foot with an unknown amount of cash. No one was injured.
A little more than an hour later, another 7-Eleven store was hit, this time at 2700 Huntington Drive in nearby Duarte. Reported at 1:43 a.m., the circumstances were identical to the first, according to authorities — two hispanic men wearing face masks took an unknown amount of cash while armed with a handgun.
While the suspect descriptions were similar, the LASD said it couldn’t determine whether the robberies were connected until surveillance video was viewed. Detectives will re-visit one of the stores on Tuesday to view the footage.
The LASD said said the Duarte store was also hit just months ago in a similar robbery.
