Woman dies after being shot in head while traveling in car on South Side

CHICAGO – A 24-year-old woman who was shot in the head while traveling inside a car on the city’s South Side has died from her injuries.

Chicago police said the shooting happened at around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday in the 1500 block of East 95th Street. Police said a 24-year-old woman was traveling in a vehicle when someone in a silver SUV shot her in the head.

She was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition and has since died from her injuries, according to investigators.

On Saturday, the Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as Emauni Ryhane.
