49ers Rookie Ricky Pearsall in Stable Condition After Being Shot in San Francisco: Reports

US

San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall is in stable condition after being shot in San Francisco. Multiple reports have said that he was indeed shot but thankfully seems to be okay.

The suspect has been found and is in custody. The incident happened in an attempted robbery in Union Square.

This is a scary situation that will surely continue to have details released. But the most important thing is that Pearsall remains in stable condition after the incident.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter confirmed the report of the shooting.

The hope is that Pearsall will be okay and can make a full recovery. Teammate Deebo Samuel took to social media and said that Pearsall was alright thankfully.

His status for Week 1 against the New York Jets next weekend now remains in doubt as he deals with this serious situation.

The 49ers drafted Pearsall in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of the University of Florida. Last season with the Gators, Pearsall posted 65 catches for 965 yards and four touchdowns. Before coming to Florida, he spent three seasons with the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Over his college career, Pearsall posted 159 catches for 2,420 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was also used as a punt returner in college, something that NFL teams loved about him entering the draft.

When the 49ers selected him, he was viewed as the potential replacement for star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, but Aiyuk has since signed a massive extension to remain in San Francisco. He should still be a key piece to the 49ers this season, provided he can fully recover from this incident.

Pearsall missed the games in the 49ers’ 2024 preseason due to a shoulder injury. The team gave him the time off to make sure that it wasn’t an issue as the season got going.

Alongside George Kittle, Samuel, Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings, and Kyle Juszczyk, Pearsall has a chance to learn from one of the deepest offensive skill rooms in the NFL. San Francisco is led by quarterback Brock Purdy, and the club will be looking to get back to the Super Bowl for the second straight year.

The 49ers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the big game last season, so they will be looking for some redemption. But for now, the focus is on making sure Pearsall is okay and helping him with his recovery.
