Driver hits 4 Cars and 2 Pedestrians in Brooklyn Hit-and-Run Spree

US

An elderly driver left a trail of carnage in his wake in Brooklyn Saturday after hitting four cars and injuring two pedestrians in a demolition derby hit-and-run before police arrested him.

Cops said the 61-year-old driver of the Toyota minivan was heading north on Rockaway Parkway in Brownsville around 4 p.m. when he crashed into two occupied vehicles.

The man made a quick U-Turn trying to flee the scene when he struck a 26-year-old woman and a 3-year-old girl, they said. He then collided with two empty vehicles near Blake Ave. and Grafton St. about a quarter mile away from the first crash.

The two injured pedestrians were taken to Brookdale Hospital where they were listed in stable condition, police said.

Cops said they managed to arrest the driver, who was not immediately identified, near the scene of the third crash.
