Man fatally shot in South Chicago

A man was shot and killed in South Chicago Saturday morning, police said.

The unidentified man was in a car in the 2900 block of East 89th Street when someone walked up and fired shots around 8:30 a.m., according to Chicago police.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

No one is in custody, and detectives are investigating.
