A series of attempted home invasions throughout the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles have left residents on edge.
The latest incidents occurred late Friday night. In Mission Hills, a woman was arrested after trespassing into the backyard of a home around 10:45 p.m. She refused to leave as a family hid in the second story of their home, leading to her arrest, according to police.
About 15 minutes earlier, in nearby Toluca Lake, three masked men attempted to break into a mansion.
When they were spotted by a man inside the home, they fled the scene. No arrests were made.
The pair of incidents on Friday night are just the latest in scares around the Valley. One such occurrence came in Friday’s early hours when a homeowner stabbed a would-be intruder at a residence in Winnetka.
The suspect, who was arrested, was listed in stable condition following the stabbing.
While speaking to KTLA, neighbors raised concerns about the seemingly rising issue of home invasions.
“I am worried and concerned because I have two teenaged kids sleeping in my house,” one man said. “I want everyone to be aware that [the invaders are] getting to everyone’s house. Nobody is safe.”
No residents were injured in any of the aforementioned incidents.
