The Simi Valley home featured in the 1982 horror classic “Poltergeist” has been sold after hitting the market for the first time in 45 years.

The four-bedroom, 2,300-square-foot home on Roxbury Street was initially listed at $1.17 million.

The final sale price has not been disclosed and the buyer has not been identified. The home was on the market for less than three weeks.

The previous owners, who bought the home in 1979, just a few years before “Poltergeist” was filmed, largely maintained its original look. Famous scenes from the movie were filmed both inside and outside the house.

“This home is well-loved by its original owners and is ready to welcome a new family, without the ghostly antics,” according to the listing from real estate agent Lauren Murdock of Equity Union.

“Poltergeist” starred Craig T. Nelson and JoBeth Williams as young parents who move into their suburban dream home only to find it is haunted by evil spirits. It is widely considered one of the greatest horror films of all time.
