Police and paramedics responded to the Manchester Square neighborhood of South Los Angeles Friday afternoon following a report of a possible stabbing on an LA Metro bus.

Video from Sky5 showed the stopped bus near a gas station at the intersection of Western Avenue and 76th Street around 2:30 p.m.

A Los Angeles Police Department vehicle was parked at the scene and an officer was in conversation with a man who was sitting on the ground near a gas station sign with what appeared to be a bloody wound to the neck.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics eventually put that person into a gurney and loaded them into the back of an ambulance for further evaluation.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was purportedly stabbed and suffered a neck wound. The suspect in the stabbing was on a Metro bus, although police could not confirm whether the actual stabbing took place on the bus.

By the time police arrived to the scene, the suspect had fled, officials said.

The investigation is ongoing and no further details have been released at this time.
