Bubba Wallace Lifts Lid On Upcoming Life-Changing Moment

US

At age 30, NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace is stepping toward a major life milestone: fatherhood. Alongside his wife, Amanda Carter, Wallace has revealed some of the intimate details of their journey to parenthood, revealing their excitement as they await the arrival of their first child. The couple opened up about their personal moment on the popular Dale Jr. Download podcast.

Wallace, known for his cool demeanor, maintains a composed mindset as he readies himself for being a father.

“I’ve been super calm, cool and collected about it,” he stated. “Amanda, she’s been going through the ups and downs and just the excitement of motherhood for her, feeling the baby kick. She loves it. She thinks it’s the coolest thing ever.

“We’re five weeks out, and it’s crazy to think so she’s starting to feel some pain and some pressure in certain areas. Now she’s worried like, ‘Oh my god if I do one wrong move is the baby coming now?’ She’s overthinking everything.”

As the due date draws near, the excitement builds, even for the notoriously calm driver:

“She asked me a couple weeks ago, she’s like, ‘Are you excited?’ I’m like, ‘Look, there’s a lot going on right now obviously, I will be excited when little man is here.’

“Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited to be a dad, but it takes a lot for me to get excited. We’re both enjoying the process. She’s strictly belly. That’s it. Hasn’t put on any other weight anywhere else.

“It’s crazy, which she said that might change in the last couple of weeks. It’s been awesome to see her grow and enjoy the whole process.”

In a recent interview with PEOPLE magazine, the couple reminisced about their first interactions during a Spanish class.

“She thought I was nice, but not attractive,” he admitted.

“I was definitely not good at Spanish and I was trying to do the easy route and she would not budge,” Wallace joked. Carter added, “He would always try to cheat off my exams because I was much smarter than he was!”

She continued:

“It never worked out. It never hit or landed in high school,” says Carter. “I even went to his prom with somebody else from his school.”

Their relationship blossomed over the years, leading to their engagement in 2021 and a beautiful wedding on the last day of 2022 in North Carolina. As they prepare to welcome their child this October, Wallace hasn’t let his personal life distract him from his professional goals as he aims to win the last race of the standard season, the Southern 500 at Darlington to secure him a spot in the playoffs.
