AUSTIN (KXAN) — An Austin-based major league pickleball team, The Texas Ranchers, hosted a ladies night event with the team’s co-owner Kendra Scott.

The event brought women together at the Eastside Paddle Club in east Austin to play a few games and enjoy each other’s company.

KXAN spoke with the jewelry mogul on what a time this is for women in sports.

“I mean when you look at just what’s happened here in Texas with Simone Biles, Gabi, and look at our UT volleyball team. I mean, things are just unbelievable here, and it’s such a time to celebrate women in athletics. And hey, pickleball is another great sport where women can get together and have fun,” Scott said.

Scott also hosted a pop up shop at the event, where some of the proceeds went toward the JC7 Foundation. The foundation supports children in academics, ports and music, while helping families who are grieving the loss of a child.
