COOK COUNTY, Ill. — A Barrington man has been sentenced to nearly a decade behind bars after pleading guilty to child pornography charges.

A Cook County judge on Thursday sentenced 50-year-old Anthony Demonte to eight years in prison after he pleaded guilty to solicitation of child pornography.

The sentence comes a little more than a year after an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation led to his arrest.

Cook County deputies said ICAC investigators detained Demonte in June of 2023 after a search warrant revealed that he downloaded and shared sexually explicit videos and images of boys and girls under the age of 13 via social media.

Demonte must register as a sex offender upon his release.
