Flossmoor Community Church, 2218 Hutchison Road: Welcome Back Breakfast before and after worship Sept. 8. Breakfast will be served from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall to celebrate the beginning of a new season. Made-to-order omelets, pancakes and sausage will be available in exchange for a monetary donation. It’s sponsored by the Board of Community & Connection. Woodlands Community Church, 18301 Governors Highway: Fall kickoff fun fair Sept. 8. Woodland Kids open house starts at 10 a.m. with a worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sign up for adult small groups and enjoy inflatables, games and free food. St. John Neumann Parish, 17951 Dixie Highway: Piecemakers from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 5 in the Tolton Room in the school. Oak Forest

Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 15050 Central Ave.: Ongoing donations needed of nonperishable food for St. Stephen’s Food Pantry that serves families in need. Drop off items from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday at the church or leave donations in the storage bin by the front door. Information: 708-687-2170.

Orland Park

Orland Park Christian Reformed Church, 7500 Sycamore Drive: Annual Family Classics Car Show from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4. Touch-a-truck and a bouncy house will be available for kids. Fun, fellowship and cool cars also will be included. Monetary donations will be taken for the dinner. Cost is $20 to register each car, payable in cash on the day of the car show. Sign up online. South Holland

Redeemer Lutheran Church, 651 E. 166th St.: Heritage Quilters Guild at 7 p.m. Sept. 3. The meeting features an ice cream social.
