Boston magazine has released its annual list of the best high schools in the Greater Boston area, ranking 150 public high schools within, or partially within, the I-495 corridor.

The magazine ranked the schools in the list based on criteria including class size, student to teacher ratios, graduation rates, standardized test scores, and educator evaluations. Highly specialized schools and charter schools were not included.

For the 2024 rankings, Dover-Sherborn Regional High School moved into the No. 1 spot, up from No. 3 last year. Weston High School took the No. 2 slot, after claiming the top spot in 2022 and 2023.

The magazine also included median household income and average home prices for each school’s town. According to Boston, the home prices and income information were not factors for determining the rankings. For eight of the schools in the top ten, the average home price in the town was listed as more than $1 million.

Below, the top ten schools in the Greater Boston area, according to Boston magazine.
