A 2-acre brush fire is burning near a Denver Water treatment plant and Roxborough Park in Douglas County, fire officials said Tuesday.

West and South Metro Fire Rescue crews were responding to the fire burning near the Foothills Treatment Plant as of 5:15 p.m., fire officials said in posts on X.

The fire is increasing in size and burning near treatment plant buildings, according to West Metro officials.

Smoke is visible in the area, and people should only call 911 if there is an active fire nearby, according to fire officials.
