Woman accused of ramming into Albuquerque Police Department vehicles

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A woman is facing charges after police said she injured a detective after ramming into several Albuquerque Police Department (APD) vehicles.

According to the criminal complaint, APD approached the driver of a Tesla at the Hilton Hotel in Downtown on Friday night.

Police said the driver, later identified as Leann Aragon, drove around one police car, crashing into a second head-on. APD said the impact of that crash forced the second vehicle to hit a third. Police stated a detective who was inside the second car sustained head and neck injuries.

Aragon is currently being held in MDC and is facing an aggravated battery upon a peace officer resulting in a great bodily harm charge.
