British citizen found dead after ‘Russian missile strike’ in Ukraine

A British citizen has been found dead after a Russian airstrike in eastern Ukraine, local authorities say.

The Briton was found dead under the rubble of Hotel Sapfir in the eastern city of Kramatorsk on Sunday, Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty reports.

A Russian missile struck the building on 24 August, which was Ukraine’s independence day.

Six other people were wounded, including reporters for the Reuters news agency.

“Rescuers found the body of a deceased person under the rubble,” said the head of the Kramatorsk city military administration, Oleksandr Honcharenko.
