As former NYPD deputy commissioners-trials, having collectively 25 years of experience handling police disciplinary cases — we believe that Police Commissioner Edward Caban’s dismissal of a disciplinary charge against Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey — presently NYPD’s highest-ranking four-star member of police service — on technical/procedural grounds, should not be the end of this matter.
