Teen seriously injured in shooting on Far South Side: police

A teenage boy was hurt Saturday in a shooting on the city’s Far South Side, according to Chicago police.

Authorities said the teen was wounded around 4:15 p.m. in a parking lot in the 10200 block of South Cottage Avenue, a short distance from Gately Stadium when a gunman inside a white vehicle opened fire.

The teen, who was struck in the abdomen, was rushed to Comer Children’s Hospital in serious condition, police said.

No arrests had been made as an investigation by detectives was underway, police said.
