Man shot, killed in Los Angeles; LAPD searching for suspect

A man was shot and killed Friday night in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, and police are still searching for a suspect.

According to the L.A. Police Department, the incident was reported at 5:34 p.m. in the area of Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Oxnard Street in Woodland Hills. Witnesses heard gunshots and saw a body on the ground.

The death was initially investigated as a death by suicide, but was later ruled a homicide. Police say a man approached the victim and shot him multiple times.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man killed is yet to be identified as of Saturday morning. Authorities say the suspect fled in an unknown direction, and no description was immediately available.

It’s unknown if the shooting was gang related.
