Man killed, one wounded in Friday afternoon Austin shooting

A man was killed and another injured Friday afternoon in a shooting in the Austin neighborhood, according to Chicago Police.

Police responding to gunshot detection technology found a 49-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the head and a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the leg near the 700 Block of North Leamington Avenue at about 4:55 p.m., police say.

Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to police. The 49-year-old was in critical condition, but later pronounced dead, and the 21-year-old was initially listed in fair condition, according to police.

There is no one in custody, and detectives are investigating.
