Boy, 13, critically hurt in South Side shooting: police

A 13-year-old boy was critically hurt Thursday night in a shooting in the city’s Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side, according to Chicago police.

The boy was struck by gunfire in both thighs as he walked down the 700 block of East 79th Street around 7:30 p.m., police said.

The boy was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition, authorities said.

No arrests had been made.
