AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Independent School District Central Office is closed for the day Thursday after the building lost power overnight.

A release from AISD said the power to the entire building went out around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night and the backup generator failed.

Badging services and employee onboarding set for Thursday have been rescheduled, the district said.

If any families need enrollment support, they should go to their campus for assistance. In-person enrollment support will also be offered on school buses in the Central Office parking lot from 9 a.m.–2 p.m.

AISD said employees are unable to take calls to central services including the district main line or the enrollment support line until further notice.

The Austin ISD Board Voting meeting will be relocated to the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center at 1500 Barbara Jordan Boulevard on an emergency basis. Public testimony sign-up will be available on the normal schedule by calling 512-414-0130 between 7:45 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
