This evening, Vice President Kamala Harris will officially accept the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination, an outcome that seemed impossible just a month ago. Despite his disastrous debate performance against Donald Trump, President Biden seemed determined to stay in the race, until he suddenly wasn’t. If Biden hadn’t folded, tonight he would be at the podium in Chicago heading into a tough rematch with the candidate he beat four years ago, but this time trailing in the polls in all the battleground states.
