Cause of death revealed for TikTok star Kyle Marisa Roth

A cause of death has been revealed for 36-year-old TikTok star Kyle Marisa Roth, who was found dead in her apartment earlier this year.

The polarizing internet personality — known for posting Hollywood blind items as well as industry gossip on TikTok — suffered a “natural” death, according to the autopsy conducted by Maryland’s Chief Medical Examiner.

Roth died of a cardiac arrhythmia due to myocardial fibrosis, an irregular heartbeat caused by scarring on the heart muscle, according to the report obtained by TMZ.

At the time of her death, Roth had the antihistamine Diphenhydramine — which goes by brand names including Benadryl — and the alkaloid Mitragynine in her system, though no signs of alcohol. Mitragynine is a chemical that has pain-relieving effects such as opioids including morphine, according to WebMD.

Roth’s family announced in mid-April that she’d died earlier that month. She was found April 14 in her Annapolis apartment, at which point an incident report declared she was “beyond help.”

“As a family we are still processing and deciding how to properly celebrate and honor her life. We don’t know [what] happened yet,” her sister, Lindsay, wrote on Instagram at the time. “I know she touched so many people with her humor, intelligence, beauty, gossip activism, athleticism and more — she had so many gifts.”

By late April, TMZ reported that Roth’s parents had asked police to perform a welfare check after not hearing from her for several days and a video on her social media left them further concerned.

It remains unclear which video unsettled Roth’s family, though she was posting multiple clips a day leading up to her death.

The main TikTok account operated by Roth was booted from the platform in March. As of April 7, Roth was posting from an alternate account.
