Ex Trump staffer Stephanie Grisham to speak at DNC

Former Trump White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham will campaign against her old boss at Tuesday’s Democratic National Committee (DNC) convention.

The 48-year-old communications specialist served the Trump administration in several capacities before the 45th president was defeated by Joe Biden in the 2020 election. She resigned altogether after enraged Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 to violently oppose the certification of Biden’s 7-million vote win.

Grisham, who was the first White House press secretary to hold no press conferences during her nine months in that job, confessed on social media Tuesday that she’ll calm her nerves by thinking about the animal sanctuary she now operates.

“I never thought I’d be speaking at a Democratic convention,” she told NBC News. “But, after seeing firsthand who Donald Trump really is, and the threat he poses to our country, I feel very strongly about speaking out.”

Grisham told ABC’s “The View” in 2022 her former boss was a conman and described his circle as “a cult-like thing.”

She told the ABC morning program, where fellow Trump administration defector Alyssah Farah Griffith is a co-host, that she considered leaving the White House several times, but didn’t know who would hire her considering the recent work history on her resume.

Grisham told NBC News she doesn’t agree with Kamala Harris on every issue, but believes the Democratic presidential nominee will serve “with honesty and integrity.”

Former Illinois congressman Adam Kinzinger said Tuesday that he’ll be in Chicago for the last night of the DNC convention to campaign against Trump too.

“True conservatism has been replaced with a cult,” the former Republican lawmaker posted on X. “I’ll be making that clear.”

The Harris campaign has expressed an interest in courting conservative voters unwilling to get behind Trump.
