US

Authorities on Monday announced the arrest of a suspect connected with a threat made on social media against a middle school in Moreno Valley.

After learning of the image threatening violence at Mountain View Middle School in the 13000 block of Morrison Street, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department assigned additional deputies to the campus.

An investigation into the post led to the arrest of an unidentified suspect, the Sheriff’s Department announced in a story update on its Instagram page.

No information regarding the suspect or the nature of the threat has been released.

The Sheriff’s Department stated on Sunday that they would use “an abundance of caution” in the investigation despite not being sure if the threat was credible.

“Keeping our schools safe is one of our highest priorities and we are working together with school district personnel to ensure the safety of everyone,” the Department stated.
