L train subway line suspended during NYC morning rush after loss of third rail power

US

Service on the L subway line was suspended in Manhattan and nearly all of Brooklyn Monday morning after the MTA reported a loss of power in the tunnel connecting the two boroughs.

No L trains were running in either direction between the Myrtle-Wyckoff Ave. station in Bushwick on the Ridgewood, Queens, border and the Eighth Ave. terminal on Manhattan’s West Side.

“We’re investigating a loss of third-rail power in the tunnel between Brooklyn and Manhattan,” the MTA said in a service alert.
