Man dead after being shot in Austin

CHICAGO – A man has died after being shot in Austin Saturday afternoon.

The shooting happened just after 2:30 p.m. near the 100 block of South Lavergne Avenue.

Chicago police said the suspect approached a man in his 30s and fired multiple shots, hitting him in the neck and back. The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries.

No arrests have been made and Area Four Detectives are investigating.
