Heading to the Cincinnati Open, Reds game on Sunday? Here’s the weather forecast

US

An action-packed Sunday of sports in Greater Cincinnati may be bogged down by some inclement weather.

There will be a chance for showers and thunderstorms in the late morning going into the early afternoon Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. This will be right around the start of Day 8 of the Cincinnati Open, with the first part of the semifinals beginning at 11 a.m.

The Cincinnati Reds will also have an afternoon game against the Kansas City Royals at 1:40 p.m.

Another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected to hit the region later that evening, likely before 11 p.m. The second part of the Cincinnati Open semifinals and the women’s doubles final are scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.

Weather has already impacted the tennis tournament earlier this week, as rain postponed several matches during Thursday’s night session and delayed the start of Friday’s day session.

Follow the Cincinnati Open on Facebook or X for updates on weather delays and cancellations. The Reds will also post weather updates on their X account.

The full forecast for Sunday includes mostly cloudy skies with a high near 80 degrees and a low around 65. The chance for precipitation is 90% in the morning and 60% in the evening.

New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are expected, but higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms.
