Man killed, two injured in Austin shooting, police say

A man was killed and two others were injured in a shooting in the Austin neighborhood in the early hours of Saturday morning, according to Chicago Police.

A man, 53, and woman, 41, were outside near the 4700 block of West Polk Street at around 4:40 a.m. when they were shot, the man in his abdomen and the woman in her right ankle, police say. Another man, 33, also was shot in his right foot, according to police.

The older man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead, police say. The woman was also taken to Mount Sinai in good condition. The 33-year-old man took himself to Rush Hospital and is listed in good condition, police say.

There are no suspects in custody, and detectives are investigating.
