OAKLAND — Authorities on Friday announced an arrest in a shooting earlier this month in Oakland.
The suspect — identified as a 20-year-old Oakland man — was taken into custody Monday in Richmond, the Oakland Housing Authority Police Department said in a news release.
The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has charged the man with multiple felonies, including unlawful firearm activity and possession of a machine gun. He is being held without bail at Santa Rita Jail.
The shooting happened Aug. 1 in the 1900 block of East 19th Street, according to police. The victim survived but remains hospitalized.
“During this difficult time, the Oakland Housing Authority continues to remain in contact with the victim’s family while providing support and services,” police said.
