San Francisco’s ‘regular neighborhood drug dealer’ caught with 8 lbs of meth, 2 lbs of cocaine, and 13 guns, police say

SAN FRANCISCO — Police showed up to a local residence over a tip that someone there had uploaded child pornography to a Dropbox account, but ended up stumbling on much more, according to court records.

During a search of a home on the 800 block of Arkansas Street, police reportedly discovered roughly eight pounds of methamphetamine, two pounds of cocaine, 100 grams of heroin, 17 grams of fentanyl, and 13 guns, as well as an undisclosed amount of ammunition and firearm accessories.

There were three people present in the home during the search, but one of them, Rodney Williams, allegedly piped up and told police that “everything in the house” belonged to him. He later described himself as a “regular neighborhood drug dealer,” according to the criminal complaint.

So now Williams, 54, is in Santa Rita Jail facing federal charges of possessing drugs for sale and being a firearm in possession of a firearm. He could have even more charges coming; during the search he also admitted to possessing child sexual abuse material on his cellphone, according to the criminal complaint, and police say an “initial review” of his phone confirmed this.

Police say Williams has five prior felony convictions, the oldest one coming in 1993 for assault with a firearm, and the most recent one — sending harmful material to a minor — in 2017. The guns included six pistols, one shotgun, and six rifles, according to the criminal complaint.

Williams is currently being held without bail but he’s due in court next on Tuesday for a magistrate to determine whether he’s a suitable candidate for release, court records show.
