Man, 30, fatally wounded Friday morning on South Side – Chicago Tribune

A 30-year-old man was fatally wounded Friday morning in a shooting on the South Side in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood, Chicago Police said.

Shortly before 6:45 a.m., the man was getting into his vehicle in the 7900 block of South Wabash Avenue when people approached and opened fire, police said.

The victim was taken to UChicago Medicine where he was pronounced dead. The gunmen fled the scene in an unknown direction, police said.

No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
