NYPD warns of masked robbers pillaging laundromat and laundry room coin machines

US

Police said Friday they’re searching for a group of suspects wanted for a total of 40 burglaries spanning three boroughs over the past several months.

NYPD officials said three or four masked men have broken into dozens of buildings in Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx – including apartment complexes and laundromats – to steal coin machines, merchandise, money and other property.

On several occasions, they broke into the laundry rooms of apartment buildings and took payment machines with cash inside, according to police.

The men always left the scene in different cars with stolen plates, including a black Honda Odyssey minivan, officials said.

The incidents were reported between March 21st and June 3rd, and mostly happened overnight or in the early morning hours.

Police said anyone with information about the suspects should call their Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org/ or on Twitter @NYPDTips.
