Unsheltered Homeless Decrease in Denver, but Overall Numbers Rise

The numbers for the Point in Time (PIT) Count conducted in January came out today, August 14, revealing a 10 percent increase in homelessness across the seven-county Denver metro area from 2023 to 2024. The City and County of Denver is reporting that numbers within its jurisdiction alone are much lower, though, which Mayor Mike Johnston scores as a victory for his effort to house 1,000 people in 2023…
