Police searching for suspect in alleged gunpoint robbery in Roxbury

The alleged thief followed the two women, put a gun to one of their heads, and stole a necklace, Boston police said.

Boston police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man authorities say robbed two elderly women at gunpoint in Roxbury on Sunday.

Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery around 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Dudley and Clarence streets, the Boston Police Department said in a news release. According to police, the thief allegedly followed the two women while they were walking, put a gun to one of the women’s heads, and stole her chain necklace. 

Police described the alleged thief as a man of unknown age, standing about 5 foot 3 inches to 5 foot 4 inches tall. He was wearing a black hoodie with the hood up, a black face covering, and black pants, according to the news release. 

The armed robbery remains under investigation.
