Man fatally shot in Austin, Chicago police say

CHICAGO – A man was killed in a shooting Monday afternoon in the city’s Austin neighborhood.

Chicago police said the shooting happened at around 4:15 p.m. in the 4800 block of West Madison Street.

According to investigators, a 40-year-old man was on the sidewalk when a vehicle pulled up. That’s when a suspect inside the vehicle started shooting at him.

Police said the man was shot multiple times and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No other information was released and Area Four Detectives are investigating.
