The Red Sox’ next wave of top talent is moving up within the team’s farm system.

According to The Boston Globe’s Alex Speier, Boston’s top three prospects — shortstop Marcelo Mayer, catcher Kyle Teel, and outfielder Roman Anthony — have all been promoted to Triple-A Worcester.

All three blue-chip prospects have spent the entire season together as teammates in Double-A Portland, with their camaraderie making their collective leap to baseball’s next level even sweeter.

“I pulled Marcelo aside before we came in [the clubhouse], and I was like, ‘Bro, this is unreal. We’re literally moving together,’ ” Teel told Speier. “We have such a great culture and such a great friendship. Going with this group of guys, it’s just seeing our hard work paying off — like on the off-day, coming in together and getting work in, talking about the game. Seeing it all pay off, there’s no better feeling.”

All three prospects will make their debuts with the Woo Sox this week, with Worcester set to open a six-game homestand on Tuesday night at Polar Park.

All three of Mayer, Teel, and Anthony have further elevated their stock this season in Portland, with the trio ranking in the top 25 of MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Prospects list. Mayer ranks sixth overall on that list, while Anthony and Teel also earned high marks at No. 13 and No. 23, respectively.

“It’s good for them. Just go out there and keep getting better,” Alex Cora said on Sunday of the trio’s promotion. “That is something that (Portland manager Chad Epperson) has said all along — that they’re good players but they’re working on everything. Good base runners, being a good teammate. There’s a lot in player development that is not only what happens in between the lines.

“Like I told them in spring training individually, I said there’s no age limit in the big leagues. You can make it at 19 or you make it at 35. It doesn’t matter. If you’re good, you’re good. The fact that they are going all together over there is going to be fun to watch. They are going to be part of this in the future. I’m glad they are doing an outstanding job.”

Mayer, who was tabbed as the No. 2 prospect in baseball by The Athletic’s Keith Law last month, overcame an injury-plagued 2023 season and thrived in Portland. The 21-year-old infielder and former fourth-overall pick (2021) slashed .307/.370/.480 with eight homers, 36 extra-base hits, and 13 steals in 77 games against Double-A pitching.

Anthony — who projects as a power-hitting outfielder with advanced tools at the plate — has slashed .269/.367/.489 line with 15 home runs, 38 extra-base hits, and 16 steals over 84 contests. According to Speier, Anthony (who turned 20 on May 13) will become the youngest Sox prospect to reach Triple-A since Glenn Hoffman in 1978.

Teel, who Boston plucked in the first round of the 2023 draft as a polished collegiate catcher, has accelerated his timeline to the big leagues in short order. In his first full pro season with the Red Sox, Teel batted .298 with 11 home runs and 31 extra-base hits over 84 games.
