If Disneyland is the Happiest Place on Earth, then the Anaheim Convention Center has been a close second over the weekend as the D23 Fan Expo was in full swing on its final day on Sunday.
KTLA’s Erin Myers was there and spoke to fans who were excited to check out all that’s new in the world of Disney.
“A big part of why I wanted to come was just to hear about what was going to be happening in the movies and the parks and everything over the next two years,” said Stephanie from Sacramento.
Fans had the chance to see plenty of exciting announcements throughout the weekend.
Notable highlights from a flurry of announcements on Friday included:
- The Incredibles 3
- Avatar: Fire and Ash
- Freakier Friday
- Lilo & Stitch (live action)
- Toy Story 5
Other massive news included the new addition to Disney’s California Adventure. A new land based around the world in the “Avatar” franchise will begin construction in the near future, sporting what appeared to be a water attraction.
But the news is just part of the show. Disney fans from all corners of the country gathered to support the entertainment giant that they loved, and being part of that community was worth the trip to fans, many of whom dressed up as their favorite characters.
“I get to come down with all of the fans who are dressed up and put so much energy into everything they do,” Stephanie said, while sporting an outfit inspired by ‘Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.’ “I just love being among my own people.”
