‘Volunteer’ arrested for possession of child porn, over 600 obscene images of minors: police

Authorities believe there may be additional victims after a man who volunteered in local organizations was arrested in a child sexual exploitation investigation. 

Investigators with the West Covina Police Department, in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security’s Los Angeles office and the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, executed a federal warrant on Thursday, West Covina police stated

The man, 39-year-old Matthew Mullen, was arrested and booked for possession of over 600 obscene images and possession of minor in sexual act/pornography material. 

“Due to Mullen’s volunteer efforts in local organizations, investigators believe there may be additional victims,” authorities said. 

HSI Los Angeles and the West Covina Police Department are asking for information from the public that may aid in the investigation.
