No survivors after passenger plane carrying 61 people crashes in Brazil

A passenger plane carrying 62 people has crashed in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Footage broadcast by TV GloboNews showed a large area on fire and smoke appearing to billow from an apparent plane fuselage.

Video on social media showed an aircraft falling at speed towards the ground.

The local firefighters corps confirmed that the plane fell in the city of Vinhedo.

The 62 people on board the Voepass flight included crew members.

Voepass said it does not yet have an update on whether there have been fatalities or injuries.

The ATR-72 plane was reportedly en route from Cascavel in the state of Parana to Guarulhos in Sao Paolo state.
