Zach Bryan Concert Suspended Due to Severe Weather

Zach Bryan’s concert in Philadelphia was suspended on Tuesday due to severe weather.

The country music singer was set to perform at Lincoln Financial Field when storms hit the area. Officials advised concert-goers to seek shelter.

“Severe weather is still in the area at this time – for your safety, please remain sheltered in place away from the open seating areas,” Lincoln Financial Field shared via X, formerly Twitter, on August 7. “We will provide further updates as we receive them.”

The stadium clarified in a separate message, however, that the show was “NOT cancelled,” and “The gates will reopen when the severe weather shelter in place has been lifted.”

After approximately two hours, the shelter order was lifted and the concert resumed.

“The severe weather has moved out of the area and it is now safe to return to your seating area. The estimated start time is 10:20PM,” Lincoln Financial Field said.

The National Weather Service had issued a flood warning, and at the time of publication, estimated that “heavy rain from Tuesday afternoon and evening resulted in 2 to 4 inches of rain with local amounts exceeding 5 inches.”

The delay prompted a flurry of online messages, with many upset at how the situation was handled.

“Absolutely ridiculous to not cancel,” one person wrote via X. “Closing the gates and locking people out from shelter in a warned storm is egregious. Plenty of warning this was going to happen.”

“I know we can’t control Mother Nature. But this is absolutely ridiculous that you refuse to cancel/reschedule this show,” someone else agreed. “Thunderstorms are very different from a little rain. Think about all the people that paid the INSANE ticket price for this even. Do the right thing & refund us.”

“Ironic that the zach bryan concert gets a thunderstorm delay AFTER the opening acts are done and AFTER we already knew about the weather?!!!” a third said.

“You should be ashamed of yourselves for not cancelling this – everyone’s phones are warning of life threatening weather, you closed the gates stranding people and yet you don’t cancel…..this is dangerous and beyond outrageous,” a fourth added.

Newsweek reached out to Zach Bryan’s agency and Lincoln Financial Field for comment.

Others, however, didn’t seem to mind the weather.

“I somehow got lucky and found tickets for Zach Bryan tonight and despite the rain it was magical, love him even more for the@Eagles cross over merch,” a fan wrote on X.

“Waited an entire year for the Zach Bryan concert and it changed my life,” said another.

Bryan announced his “Quitting Time Tour” in August.

“This year was too much fun, thank you guys so much for making our lives a dream,” the 28-year-old shared in a post via Instagram at the time. “Boys are headed home and gearin’ up.”

Bryan has one more performance in Philadelphia tonight and will continue his tour in Atlanta, Georgia this weekend.

Recently, Lana Del Rey and the Foo Fighters concerts were also affected by weather.
