Boston police officers arrested a 17-year-old boy for armed robbery in Allston on Sunday night.

The suspect was attempting to steal a moped, BPD said in a statement.

A group of people allegedly tried to steal the victim’s moped around 11:10 p.m. One of the thieves pulled out a knife and threatened to stab the victim, police said. The victim disarmed the suspect, then the suspect began to punch him.

Officers responded to reports of a fight “involving a large group and a knife” near the Allston Street T stop. When they arrived, they found the victim physically holding down the suspect, the department said, and officers immediately put the suspect in handcuffs.

BDP arrested the suspect and charged him with delinquent to wit; armed assault with intent to rob, according to the department. He was set to be arranged in Brighton District Court.
