The critically acclaimed play based on the hit Netflix sci-fi series “Stranger Things” will make its way from the West End to Broadway, with performances set to begin March 28 at the Marquis Theatre.

Based on an original story by show creators Matt and Ross Duffer, along with playwrights Jack Thorne and Kate Trefry, “Stranger Things: The First Shadow” is “rooted in the mythology and world of the Netflix global phenomenon,” according to Tuesday’s announcement.

British powerhouse producer Sonia Friedman — with credits including this season’s Broadway hit “Stereophonic” and global productions of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” — partnered with Netflix to bring the show to the Great White Way.

Multi-Tony Award winner Stephen Daldry has been tapped to direct, alongside original “Stranger Things” director Justin Martin.

Casting will be announced at a later date.

Since premiering in 2023 at the Phoenix Theater in London’s West End, “The First Shadow” has broken box office records and won two 2024 Olivier Awards, including Best Entertainment Play.

The stage show — like the spooky streaming series — is set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. But this time, it takes place in 1959 decades before popular characters Eleven, Mike Wheeler, Will Byers and their crew entered the Upside Down.

According to the official synopsis, Hawkins is just “a regular town with regular worries,” where Jim Hopper, Bob Newby and Joyce Maldonado (later Joyce Byers) are students themselves facing everyday problems.

But “when new student Henry Creel arrives, his family finds that a fresh start isn’t so easy…and the shadows of the past have a very long reach.”

The Broadway production begins preview performances on Friday, March 28, ahead of its official opening on Tuesday, April 22.

Pre-sale tickets will become available on Sept. 13 for those who sign up on the show’s official website. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Sept. 17.
