Expect another hot day Tuesday but there could be some relief on Wednesday from the heat wave that has roasted Southern California recently.
High pressure will continue to bring dangerously warm conditions to inland areas today, with excessive heat warnings and heat advisories in place for much of the region through 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Afternoon highs in many valley, mountain and desert locations will reach between 98 and 110 degrees, according to the Weather Service.
“The only place to really beat the heat is along the coast,” KTLA meteorologist Henry DiCarlo said.
There is some good news as a slight cooling trend is forecast to arrive on Wednesday.
“Tomorrow temperatures will come down. Probably not enough to make you really happy but it is a start in the right direction,” Henry said.
The closer-to-average temperatures won’t last long however as another, likely shorter heat wave is on tap for this weekend.
There will be some added humidity on Saturday bringing a chance of thunderstorms, especially inland.
