A 35-year-old woman was raped by a stranger who stopped her on a Bronx street asking for directions, police said Tuesday.
Police have released surveillance footage of the suspect in the hopes someone recognizes him.
The victim was nearing the corner of Bergen Ave. and E. 149th St. in the South Bronx about 1:10 a.m. Monday when the creep approached her.
He asked her for directions, then raped her, cops said.
The attacker was last seen running east down E. 149th St. toward Brook Ave.
The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital.
Cops scouring the area for surveillance video managed to collect images of the suspected rapist, who is described as Black and about 6 feet tall. He was wearing a black shirt with a multi-colored design on the front, black pants, black shoes, and a dark-colored backpack.
