A report of a possible bomb threat overnight had gamblers grabbing their chips and running out of the Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood.
Video showed patrons standing outside the casino during the early morning hours Tuesday as Inglewood Police Department officers and a bomb squad responded.
Randal Taylor of Bonita Springs, Florida, said he was playing poker when a floor person said they had to evacuate and everyone needed to leave immediately.
Taylor said at one point there were rumors of a shooter as the rush for the door was underway.
“Once they started leaving, people started panicking. There was a mad rush of people running, hiding under the tables because they thought it was an active shooter,” Taylor said.
After a sweep of the casino, the bomb squad did not report any evidence of a threat.
Taylor overheard that someone may have called in the bomb threat after losing some money but police have not confirmed any details about the incident.
Several patrons were seen waiting after the incident to get back inside the casino and collect their belongings.
