Shooting investigation underway in Evanston; portion of Dempster Street closed

EVANSTON, Ill. – Police in Evanston are investigating a shooting.

Evanston police said the shooting happened Monday night in the 1700 block of Dempster Street.

A large police presence is at the location and the 1700-1800 block of Dempster Street is closed at this time, according to investigators.

Police added the scene is secure, but the public is asked to avoid the area at this time.
