Oakland A’s reach $125M deal with local group to sell its portion of Coliseum

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) — The Oakland Athletics have officially come to a tentative deal to sell its portion of the Coliseum.

The team and the African American Sports and Entertainment Group made that announcement Monday morning.

The organization will buy the team’s portion of the stadium site for $125 million.

In a statement, the team said it is pleased to have reached this deal that can help “provide substantial opportunities and benefits for Oakland.”

The A’s will temporarily move to Sacramento for next season ahead of a planned relocation to Las Vegas.

This announcement comes a week after the City of Oakland reached a deal to sell their share of the Coliseum complex to AASEG as well.

Oakland officials celebrated the deal as a win for the city facing a historic deficit.
